SWTOR system requirements

If you haven't bought a game yet, and you wonder whether it will run on your computer, that isn't all that easy to find out. Typical official system requirements are either cryptic or overly optimistic. According to EA Bioware, SWTOR runs on a toaster. And yes, Star Wars: The Old Republic runs on my 2-year old laptop.

At 10 frames per second. :(

Simple comparison: The same laptop runs World of Warcraft at 80 frames per second. Which means WoW can be played fluidly, but playing SWTOR is kind of a pain. I keep running into walls, and in combat my companion is doing most of the work.

I reviewed Ninja Kiwi so kids could see if it was alright to play on it. I found many great games for kids to play. There are a few games that i gave a ten out of ten. Most of them came from the 'Bloons' series. My favorite of these was Bloons Tower Defense Four. Basically you put monkeys out that do different things to pop balloons. You can also get upgrades for the monkeys to pop them faster and to pop more of them. But, if you start playing you may not stop because it is very addicting. There were many other fun games to play, but I do not think that kids under thirteen should play on this site. One reason is that if you look at the second picture, you will see a girl in nothing but a bra and some panties. I thought it was pretty bad to have on a kid's gaming website. There were a few other things that made this site not appropriate for kids under the age of thirteen. One of the major things is that some of the 'action' games were not appropriate for some kids. I did not check them out because I could tell by the way that it looked that it was not suitable for younger kids. I do not recommend this site for kids under the age of thirteen.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Early Access Has Commenced!
This is the moment fans have been waiting for for nearly three years now, the chance to play the actual, completed version of Star Wars: The Old Republic, EA and BioWare's Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game that puts players in the shoes of their very own Star Wars hero as he or she embarks on a quest to join the Republic and bring peace to the galaxy or side with the Sith and make every inhabitant of the galaxy bow and tremble before them.

BioWare initially asserted that anybody who pre-ordered the game would get early game access as early as December 15, a full five days before the game's December 20 release date. However, the company kicked it up a notch allowing players to get in as early as today, December 13, one full week before the game's launch. I was one of the lucky ones to get in today and you should be thankful I am taking time out of my day to write this piece.

Early access was given out in waves. The process involved inviting players based on when they redeemed their pre-order code for the game, so the earlier you redeemed, the earlier you go in. BioWare decided to insert players into the game in waves for many reasons. The main reason was so the game's servers didn't completely explode on opening day from the millions of players trying to log on simultaneously. The other reason was to reward players' devotion and enthusiasm in wanting to play the game.

Having played the game enough already today to rank my Jedi Consular up to level 6 and also having participated in three beta tests, I can assure you that this game is one of the most fun I have played in a while. I'm not big into MMOs and, to be honest, SWTOR is my first foray into the genre. But I can definitely tell you that I am having loads of fun with this game and I can hardly put it down. I will be writing a more expansive review on the game in the coming days, probably around the time of the actual release of the game so check back here around December 20th to get all the details on what is sure to be one of the biggest games in history!

We'll be spending some time this week practicing our math facts by playing Loteria....Christmas style.
I found a game on another web site, wish I could remember where, but lost the game from the site. So I decided to switch it up and add some cards to the original idea. Since we've been studying some of the Christmas traditions from around the world, and my kids are in love with the Spanish language, I decided to teach them the Spanish version of bingo....loteria....should be a lot of fun!



Since we've been working with doubles and doubles plus one, I made the cards to go with these skills. You could mix it up and make the cards to go with whatever skill you're working on at this time!



I've created enough cards for 19-20 different number combinations. You could use mini marshmallows for markers, M&Ms, or Skittles...yum!
